THE OPPORTUNITY
Betterview seeks a front-end developer to elegantly implement UI designs and features. Betterview’s front end is built on React with minimal Redux and a Node back-end. Betterview is a heavy user of mapping technologies, including leaflet and, on the backend, some knowledge of Postgres/Redis/Kubernetes is desired to allow graceful working with development systems.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Work with product management, software team leaders, and the UI design team to implement new interfaces and maintain existing interfaces.
  • Build and maintain reusable React components with Typescript.
  • Implement design in as close to a pixel perfect form as is technically possible.
  • Work with data coming in from backend node based endpoints.
  • Work with Jira to keep the team knowledgeable of where tasks are.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR COMPANY

  • Heavy React/Javascript/Typescript experience.
  • UI testing experience.
  • Experience implementing designs from a UI designer is important.
  • Experience working with third party SDKs and Web Services.
  • Excellent communication skills – spoken word, written word, grammar and spelling.
  • A can-do attitude, one can say no, but there better be a solid argument as to why the answer is no.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service – internal and external is key

The successful candidate:

  • Understands Node.
  • Has some experience with Postgres.
  • Has worked with Kubernetes.
